Review:
A few people in my life have been passing this book around lately, so it felt like a good time to pick it up myself. Living in today’s constant noise and overwhelm, I felt I’d benefit from learning about the importance of carving out moments of silence throughout my day.
In this book, Cardinal Sarah discusses not only the importance of silence but also the necessity. So many of us live in a fast-paced society. We’ve been conditioned to believe that indulging in a quiet moment is frivolous. It’s quite the opposite. In silence, we can allow ourselves to be closer to God.
Of course, I’m not able to articulate this topic to the same degree in a book review as Cardinal Sarah can. I found his words inspiring. I also thought the concept of Heaven being a place of silence was interesting within this context. I can see why I know so many people who have been drawn to this!
