My name is Audrey. I was one of those kids who started off enjoying reading but was deterred when it became homework. Thankfully, that resistance didn’t last forever.

I predominantly read historical, contemporary, and literary fiction. I also enjoy nonfiction centering on history and science. Some other genres I read are classics, poetry, memoirs, thrillers, and a touch of most everything else.

Aside from reading, I’m a hobbyist writer and photographer. I also love to travel and attend the theatre.

I’ve been running this blog since 2022. It has been such an incredible experience! I can look back on some of my first posts now and see how far I’ve come as a reviewer as well as a reader. I’d like to give a special thanks to the many authors who have reached out to me through this platform and trusted me with their books. It’s been an honor!

Behind the blog name…

I started my Instagram under the handle oceanwriter over a decade ago when I was trying to make a name for myself as a writer. I didn’t expect to gain any sort of following with this blog, so I titled it to be an offshoot of my ‘main’ goals. My writing has since switched from aspirations of fiction to contentment with where I am right now, which is reviewing books. While I still dabble with fiction, it’s for my own enjoyment and not my focus at the moment. I’ve thought about ‘rebranding’, but I’m attached to it.

If you’re curious, I do still have a couple of old short stories up on Wattpad under a pen name.
