Book Review: People We Meet on Vacation by Emily Henry

“It’s the very fact that it’s finite that makes traveling special. You could move to any one of those destinations you loved in small doses, and it wouldn’t be the spellbinding, life-altering seven days you spent there as a guest, letting a place into your heart fully, letting it change you.”

Review:

Cute and fun! I’m a sucker for the tropes here. Naturally, it made a perfect vacation read. I’m not so big on romance books but I enjoyed Emily Henry’s style a lot.

Afterthoughts:

I was on vacation (yes, I saved this book until then) when I read this so I didn’t put too much effort into my review then.

I enjoyed it so much more than I thought I would. Again, I’m not a big romance reader. I typically prefer it as a side plot. I liked how long Poppy and Alex’s friendship spanned and getting to know them year by year through flashbacks. Though I wouldn’t go as far as to say I identified with either of them, I could understand some of what Poppy was dealing with in the present time of the story.

I’m sold on Emily Henry’s style of romance writing. I have Beach Read lined up for a summer buddy read and I’m super excited for her newest release, Book Lovers.
